Max/MSP Quick Tip #8: Max/MSP and Node.js

By using Node.js it is actually possible for max to interactively communicate with and manipulate websites. For those uninitiated Node.js (or simply Node) allows users to run Javascript server side (the web server where a web page is stored rather than the client side, or web browser as is commonly the case) and is also capable of handling http requests. This could therefore have interesting uses in installations or experimental web apps that are fundamentally just max patches broadcasting their output live to the world.

Here we have a basic tutorial and run down of how to do this.
